Sword & Shield Simulator Early Access Roadmap
What is in the current three-region build, and what the studio says still comes after.
Wildlands Interactive put Sword & Shield Simulator into Early Access because the forge loop and a large mission count were already playable, while economy, pacing, and remaining content order still needed live players. Their public Early Access FAQ is the source for this page. It is not a contract. It is the best list we have.
Current slice: Danburg, Bloodlands, Grainmill. Over 140 story missions. Side quests, collectibles, lockpicking, contracts, trading, skills, shrines, siege tower and cart repair, cups mini-game. Reputation still a placeholder. See the Map Hub, Talstein, and Guides Hub. After Day One Patch 1.0.26.08.12.3 the studio’s own next-up list is economy and trading balance, feel/settings, menu input, and more bugs — not a dated cathedral calendar.
Talstein
The largest region, planned with around 98 more story missions and roughly a dozen locations: town hall, cathedral, arena, market, thieves’ guild, alchemist, goldsmith, bastion final battle. A buildable siege machine, a boss fight, and cutscenes. Devlog #25 frames Holtsdorf Forest as the wild approach — sawmill, occupied farm, watermill smuggling flour to Danburg, Li family camp, herbalist, trapper. That forest is story geography, not a fourth Steam-listed region. Full honesty lives on the Talstein page. If a video shows those as finished exploration, check the date. They are the full-version carrot.
Higher-tier crafting
The full set of sword parts — blades, guards, handles, pommels — plus more materials. That is why your sword designer catalog looks small. You are not missing a menu. You are early.
Mine, mixtures, hunting
A deeper mine, a deeper material and mixture system, expanded hunting with more animals, resources, and arrow variety. Today’s materials page is coal, iron, cupronickel, wood, scrap. That list should grow. Hunting should become less of a deer-duplication joke if they follow through.
Time window
About three to six months in Early Access, mainly for balancing, unlocking remaining content in the right order, and fixing feedback. Price is not currently planned to change at 1.0. If that changes, they say they would aim to say so first.
How to read this without getting played
A roadmap is a wish that costs engineering. Launch-week bugs can eat the calendar. If Grainmill is still a soft lock, Talstein is not the next thing you should wait for — stability is. Follow patch notes and Steam news. Use Discord if you want to argue about the economy.
This wiki will not turn the roadmap into a countdown widget. We will move items to region and item pages when they ship. Until then, play the three regions you have or wait. Both are adult choices. The Early Access review is the money version of that choice. This page is the content version.
What is not on the roadmap
Online sessions, Roblox codes, a published 1.0 calendar, and a promise that AI voices will be recast. If those matter to you, do not infer them from Talstein. The FAQ they published is about regions, parts, mines, and hunting. Community features they named are Steam forums and Discord. That is the feedback loop. It is not a multiplayer plan. Keep patch notes for the small stuff that might ship next week. Keep this page for the large stuff that might eat the whole Early Access window if bugs win. If you are choosing between waiting for Talstein and waiting for a hammer that clicks on time, wait for the hammer. A cathedral on a late cursor is still a late cursor. The patch notes will tell you when the click improved. This roadmap will tell you when the cathedral is even supposed to exist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Talstein playable now?
No. It is listed as a full-version expansion of the map. Current regions are Danburg, Bloodlands, and Grainmill.
Will the price go up at 1.0?
The studio said they are not currently planning a price change. That can change; watch the store FAQ.
Why is reputation a placeholder?
They said so in the Early Access FAQ. Do not build a theorycraft around reputation until it is real.
Should I wait for the deeper mine?
If mining is the reason you buy sims, waiting is fair. The current loop already has ore, scrap, and wood.
