First hour at the anvil

A practical order of work for new smiths in Danburg.

  1. 1

    Learn the forge stations

Smelt, hammer, grind, and chisel in order. Rushing a station shows in the finished blade. Read the forge loop before you waste ore.

  2. 2

    Fill the cart with intent

Battlefield scrap is not infinite inventory. Prioritize heavy metal and leave junk. The cart page lists what is worth hauling back to Danburg.

  3. 3

    Build one honest sword

Use the sword designer to match blade, guard, handle, and pommel. Quality, not clutter, is what contracts pay for.

  4. 4

    Fix input before you rage-quit

Mouse lag, UI miss-clicks, and hitching are common in this build. Turn off VSync if the cursor feels late, and try Performance Mode.

  5. 5

Travel only when the gate is clear

Players report a trade cost to leave the starting region. Confirm the requirement in-game before you dump a whole inventory at a shrine.

FAQ

Wiki FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Sword & Shield Simulator in Early Access?

Yes. It entered Steam Early Access on 11 August 2026. Wildlands Interactive estimates roughly three to six months of Early Access, mainly for balance, remaining content order, and bug fixes. The full Talstein region is still planned, not playable as a finished chapter.

Is this an official wiki?

No. This is an unofficial fan resource. Confirm patches, prices, and store text on the Steam page and the developer Discord. We are not affiliated with Wildlands Interactive or Ultimate Games S.A.

Which languages does this wiki cover?

The wiki is written in English, French, German, and Spanish. The Steam game itself also ships Italian, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Turkish, and Japanese. We skipped Chinese and Russian on purpose, then kept four mainstream locales instead of all ten remaining ones.

Does the game have redeem codes or Roblox scripts?

No. This is a single-player Steam blacksmithing sim, not a Roblox experience. There are no working promo codes or script hubs. Use the guides, items, map, and tools pages instead.

Should I buy it on day one of Early Access?

Steam user reviews opened Negative. The concept is strong; the feel of the work, the economy, and several bugs are not. Read the Early Access review and system requirements before you spend. Waiting for patches is a reasonable choice.

Where should a new player start?

Open Getting Started, then How to Forge, then How to Get Materials. If the mouse feels wrong, jump to Performance and Bugs before you sink an evening into a broken quest.
